Meet Again: Heartwell is a cozy slice of life narrative adventure romance and life sim with relaxing café minigames. Customize your character, explore the top-down town map, make crepes, decorate your room, and navigate new friendships and romance in a new town.
During your last spring break before middle school ends, you and your mom visit the small island of Heartwell, a charming tourist destination known for its peculiar history of UFO sightings.
There, you meet two boys: Marsh, the boy who's rough around the edges but hides a lonely heart, and Jade, the boy whose playful charm makes it hard to tell when he's serious. Which one will you spend your break with?
As your vacation ends, you part ways… but your story isn’t over. You’ll return to Heartwell for your senior year and reunite with your childhood crush. See how he’s changed, build your bond, and uncover the strange secrets lingering beneath this idyllic seaside town.

I’ve always loved otome games, dating sims, and life sims. Romance in games has been a lifelong favorite of mine. The biggest spark for Meet Again: Heartwell came from playing Our Life: Beginnings & Always. It was the first time I felt truly connected to characters in a game, and it became a comforting escape during some hard moments in my own life.
That experience made me wonder: what if there were a game with that same warm, genuine romance but presented in cute top-down pixel art, where you can actually walk around and interact with the world? I adore titles like Fields of Mistria and Stardew Valley, but I’ve realized I’m far more drawn to the relationships than to farming or combat. Those games understandably don’t center romance the way I wish they did.
I’m also a fan of cozy food-making minigames like Galaxy Burger and Good Pizza, Great Pizza. That inspired me to add a part-time café job in Meet Again: Heartwell, where players can prepare orders to earn money and unlock new cosmetics. It’s a light, relaxing activity that breaks up the story and adds an extra layer of charm.
So I’m building the game I’ve always wanted to play. A place for people like me who crave heartfelt connections and meaningful relationship building. Meet Again: Heartwell is my way of sharing that dream with anyone else who feels the same pull.
We’re an indie dev couple: Sad Slime Games (aka Pixel Pete) and Alien Puppy Games (that’s me!). Pixel Pete has over 10 years of experience in the gaming industry and has successfully released two indie titles: Blacksea Odyssey and Dwerve. He's currently working on his latest game, The Last Phoenix, while also helping bring Meet Again: Heartwell to life. He even runs a YouTube channel (PixelPete), sharing pixel art and Unity tutorials. Needless to say, I’ve got an all-star by my side!
As for me, I’m handling the writing, art, and game design, while Pixel Pete tackles programming. We may be a small team of two, but we're determined to deliver a fun, wholesome experience we hope you'll love!

We are in the beginning stages of development. First on the agenda is the character creator. When that is finished, we will post it to itch.io for players to try out. The dialogue system is also being worked on as well as all the necessary art assets. Please follow our social media (username on all platforms: alienpuppygames) for any future updates!
